Wisdom gained from the manufacturing industry suggests that you can typically only pick two of the three elements listed above, and manufacturing the food you eat is no exception. Thus, if you want food that’s cheap and fast, it won’t be quality (e.g., fast food), if you want quality food and fast, it won’t be cheap (e.g., a fancy restaurant), and if you want it cheap and you want quality, it won’t be fast (e.g., making all meals from scratch). However, although this axiom may be a useful rule of thumb, there are a few exceptions no university student should be without. In this section, we explore these exceptions so that you too can quickly prepare a quality meal at a fraction of the normal cost.
Have a recipe we don’t know about? We’d love to help you share it with your fellow students. Simply e-mail it to submit@universityadvice.com and we’ll do the rest, and like a good term paper we’ll make sure to reference you as the creator and/or generous sharer of your culinary masterpiece.
